Lake Rules

A unique feature of Lake Quinsigamond is its special regulatory council created to govern the uses and abuses of its water. This distinction is shared with no other similar body of waters in the commonwealth. By the creation of this council, the State of Massachusetts recognized the special recreational characteristics of this lake. In 1916 a legislative act created the first Lake Quinsigamond Commission. This council was strictly an advisory body and therefore was largely ineffective. In 1936, Amendment Chapter 181 was adopted and other amendments followed creating the present day
